Our Physiotherapists run Mums & Bubs Pilates Mat Classes for new mums wanting to return to exercise in a way that’s appropriate for them.
Classes focus on rehabilitating your body after labour, and include exercises to help return core control, and increase back and neck flexibility.
These classes, similar to our Pre-Natal Pilates Mat Classes, change from week to week and incorporate additional equipment including Chi balls, resistance bands, hand weights, exercise balls, and foam rollers to add challenges and variation.
Your body goes through drastic changes during a pregnancy, so even if you have prior experience in Pilates we do require a 1:1 Assessment with a Physiotherapist.
In this session, the Physiotherapist will discuss how you can to safely return to exercise after pregnancy, any issues you may be having, and any exercise goals you wish to achieve. This assessment also allows you to privately discuss any antenatal issues you may be experiencing.
Mums can begin classes from 6 weeks after the birth of their baby.
