Physical Activity & Exercise.

Physical activity and exercise are two of the most impactful things you can do to influence your health.

At Move for Better Health, we understand that you might need some help when it comes to:

  • Increasing your physical activity levels,
  • Exercising to improve your fitness and performance or
  • Rehabilitating from an injury or surgery

That is why we offer a range of options for you to exercise with a health professional that can take into account your personal situation and goals, to provide a safe and effective program for you.

Gym – Strengthening and Cardiorespiratory Programs

Training in the gym at Move for Better Health can be achieved with one on one sessions or group strength sessions.

Programs commence with an initial session with an Exercise Physiologist who can assist in developing a program based on your needs or goals. They can also discuss the options of one on one training or group sessions to determine what will work best for you.

We also offer supervised exercise sessions for cardiorespiratory fitness run by University students, which can be an option provided by the Exercise Physiologists after your initial session with them.

Pilates – Mat, Reformer and Equipment Classes

Pilates is a great way to work on your mobility and control of movement. We have a range of options that include using traditional Pilates machines or mat exercises that could also be done at home.

Equipment Classes: Individual or small group sessions on Pilates equipment including the Reformer, Trapeze Table and Multichair. A personalised programme will be developed for you to undertake in these classes, based on an assessment by a Physiotherapist

Pilates Reformer Classes: These classes are run using Pilates Reformer machines, and are focused on fitness, strength and mobility. These classes are not ideal for those with ongoing health or movement issues

Pilates Mat Classes: These classes are ideal for those who are wanting to work on their fitness, strength and mobility, and do not have an

Clinical Yoga

Our Clinical Yoga sessions are one on one, and are run by a Yoga instructor with qualifications in Exercise Physiology. These are ideal for clients who have experienced difficulties in Yoga class environments before or who have specific needs due to pain or injury.
