Emma Hunt

Clinical Psychologist at NLC Psychology

Emma is a Clinical Psychologist with NLC Psychology who works with individuals whose lives have been impacted by a variety of psychological difficulties, including depression, anxiety disorders, personality disorders (including borderline personality disorder), disordered eating, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, and long COVID. In particular, she has a special interest in working with children, young people, and pre/post natal mums.

  • Qualifications: Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), Master of Psychology (Clinical)
  • Memberships: Australian Psychological Society

Emma uses a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (for PTSD), and skill development through a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy  framework. She has a wide range of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and their families, having also worked within public Youth Mental Health and Youth Justice teams.

​As well as working in general clinical psychology, Emma has also developed specialist knowledge and experience in psychological treatments for insomnia and other sleep problems. She completed her Masters research investigating the mechanisms underpinning the link between insomnia and anxiety in middle childhood.
