Bec Thiele

Physiotherapist (Advanced Practitioner) at Move Physio

Bec works with people experiencing muscle, joint or sporting injuries, and particularly loves working with performing artists and athletes to get them back to doing what they love, and prevent recurrences of their issues. In addition to providing physiotherapy treatments she is experienced in Pilates-based exercise, and teaches Equipment, Pilates Reformer & Pilates Mat classes.

  • Extra Studies: Certified Equipment & Matwork Pilates Instructor (APPI)
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (UniSA)
  • Memberships: IADMS (International Association for Dance Medicine & Science), Australian Physiotherapy Association

Bec Thiele has always had a love for dance and the arts, and after experiencing her own injuries as a dancer, she became interested in how the body works and in injury prevention. This led to her pursuing a career in Physiotherapy.

Bec became a dance instructor in her teens, and went on to also become a Pilates & Barre instructor while completing her University studies. This allowed her to work in dance-related fields and gain experience in teaching Reformer & Mat Pilates classes.

After finishing her degree, Bec worked in private practice in Adelaide and made her way to us at Move for Better Health, where she initially worked with us for a few years before moving interstate with her partner in early 2019. Her time in Victoria was well spent, working within one of Melboourne’s leading Sports Physiotherapy practices where she gained incredible experience.

Bec has worked with a variety of clients experiencing muscle or joint pain (such as headaches, neck pain, and back pain), sporting injuries, complex/chronic cases and pregnant or post-natal clients. She particularly loves working with performing artists like dancers, cheerleaders, gymnasts, calisthenics and musicians.

Her approach to Physiotherapy is all about holistic management – not only looking at the injury or site of pain in question, but also how it came about and how future recurrences can be prevented. She works very closely with our team of health professionals at Move for Better Health, especially when a Multi-Disciplinary approach is needed.

After relocating back to Adelaide mid-2020, she has rejoined the Move team as a Senior Physiotherapist. She continues to run a number of Pilates-based classes, like Equipment, Pilates Mat, and Pilates Reformer classes.

When she’s not at work, Bec is busy planning her impending nuptials, and getting used to being back in Adelaide again! She has also returned to study, and is in the process of completing her Masters in Musculoskeletal & Sports Physiotherapy.
