Bec has always had a love for dance and the arts, and after experiencing her own injuries as a dancer, she became interested in how the body works and injury prevention. This led to her pursuing a career in Physiotherapy. She became a dance instructor in her teens, and went on to also become a Pilates & Barre instructor while completing her University studies. This allowed her to work in dance-related fields and gain experience in teaching Reformer & Mat Pilates classes.
After working with us at Move for Better Health, she broadened her experience at one of Melbourne’s leading Sports Physiotherapy practices for a short time before returning to us here in Adelaide. Her approach to Physiotherapy is all about holistic management – not only looking at the injury or site of pain in question, but also how it came about and how future recurrences can be prevented. She works very closely with our team of health professionals at Move for Better Health, especially when a Multi-Disciplinary approach is needed.
Bec has gained extensive experience through her studies and practice in working with clients including those with more specific pain including hip & groin pain, foot and ankle issues, pregnancy related pain. She is able to complete assessments for clients wanting to enter into our Physio Exercise Classes as well as our Physio Reformer Classes and Physio Movement classes. She is skilled in creating exercise programs, including for those managing conditions such as hypermobility, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and POTS as well as pre and post natal women. She is also an APPI Course Educator, training other health professionals in Clinical Pilates.
Outside of work, Bec enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, and attending live performances whenever she can.
