COVID-19 Update

Here’s an update regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The well-being of our clients is, and always has been our highest priority, so we’re following the Department of Health’s most up to date guidelines.

We’re encouraged that in Australia we’re following the best possible practice of modified social contact, without going to extremes, thus ensuring we can “flatten the curve” without a longer term negative outcome.

Move for Better Health will continue to uphold high standards of hygiene and infection control, and will make further changes as new recommendations come to light. As of the 17th March, we currently:

  • Have hand sanitiser and alcohol wipes around the clinic and in our exercise spaces
  • Clean and disinfect our exercise equipment multiple times a day
  • Reduce the use of linen wherever possible, with each item of linen being washed after use
  • Clean our treatment beds between each client
  • Limit the number of people that are in the building at any one time
  • Ensure our team are well trained and accountable to all health measures recommended by the Department of Health
  • Encourage all clients to bring water bottles instead of using our on-site cups, which we have removed from shared spaces
  • Continue to waive our Late Cancellation policy for those who aren’t well. We do appreciate as much notice as possible for any cancellations, so please try and give us as much notice as possible for any changes that you require

As you may now be aware, there are currently restrictions in place for people who have recently returned to Australia. You must isolate yourself, and therefore cannot attend an allied health care facility, if you have:

  • Travelled internationally within the last 14 days
  • Been in close contact with a confirmed case of coronavirus in the last 14 days

Practicing good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene is the best defence against most viruses. You should:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently with soap and water, before and after eating, and after going to the toilet
  • Cover your cough and/or sneeze, dispose of tissues, and use alcohol-based hand sanitiser
  • If unwell, avoid contact with others (stay more than 1.5 meters from other people) and stay home where possible
  • Please contact us if you’re suffering from cold or flu like symptoms, so we can arrange for another alternative to your appointment

If you are experiencing those symptoms, or have recently returned from overseas, then we may require you to reschedule your appointment to a later date, or alternatively we may be able to perform a telehealth consultation (video consultation) instead of a face to face consultation.
