Alyssa Nikolaidis

Clinical Psychologist at NLC Psychology

Alyssa Nikolaidis is a Clinical Psychologist with experience treating anxiety disorders, depression, traumatic stress, emotion dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, and psychological symptoms associated with Long COVID.

Alyssa completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science degree at the University of Adelaide, Honours at Flinders University, and Master of Psychology (Clinical) at the University of Southern Queensland. Alyssa is currently undertaking the Clinical Registrar program to become a Clinical Psychologist.

 She uses a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). To build expertise and clinical mastery in the application of DBT, Alyssa recently completed the internationally accredited DBT Foundational/Intensive Course, which included consultation with DBT experts.

​Alyssa sees clients across the lifespan, and has a particular interest in working with children and young people (and their families). Her work has a strong focus on recovery, maximising wellbeing, assisting stabilisation of mental health, and building functional capacity for self-management.

​As well as working with clients individually, Alyssa also has experience in delivering group therapy programs for clients who experience moderate to severe difficulties in regulating their emotions, focusing on improving emotional coping and building resilience.
