Vicci began her career in physiotherapy after being inspired by her dad’s recovery from open heart surgery when she was a teenager. He attended the UK’s first cardiac rehabilitation centre, where Vicci saw firsthand how the role physiotherapy could play in helping someone regain their health and return to the things that were important to them.
Since then, she has gained broad experience across both public and private healthcare settings in the UK. Her career has included working in NHS orthopaedics, trauma and musculoskeletal outpatient departments, private practice, and with the UK military, where she rehabilitated musculoskeletal injuries and helped service personnel return to active duty.
Most recently, Vicci worked in primary care GP practices in an advanced practice role, assessing, diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal conditions. Her advanced training in the UK included qualifying as a Non-Medical Independent Prescriber and administering corticosteroid injections for MSK conditions.
Vicci has a strong interest in helping people maintain their strength, mobility and independence throughout different stages of life. She particularly enjoys Osteoporosis management, falls prevention, Pilates-based rehabilitation, and helping people recover following orthopaedic surgery.
Moving to Australia has also allowed Vicci to achieve one of her longstanding goals of working overseas as a Physiotherapist. Outside of work, she enjoys Pilates, yoga, Parkrun, hiking with her family and baking with her daughter. She is also a self-confessed space nerd and so far has been enjoying exploring Australia!
