Tom Setchell


Tom’s special interest lies in figuring out how the body moves, and helping his patients work towards the best version of themselves. He aims to provide short and long-term solutions conducive to physical health and optimal movement.

  • Extra Studies: Strength and Conditioning Coach Level 1 – Australian Strength and Conditioning Association, Certificate IV in Personal Training, Bachelor of Commerce
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (receiving University Merit Awards)
  • Memberships: Australian Physiotherapy Association

Tom Setchell became a Physiotherapist because of his long-standing interest in health, which was fostered by many of his family members also working as health care professionals.

He uses a combination of hands-on treatment and clinical exercise where appropriate, to help patients deal with issues ranging from sudden and painful injuries, to long term health issues requiring a carefully considered exercise plan.

Tom commonly helps patients with issues including neck and back pain, shoulder pain, sports related injuries, and headaches.

Tom is also the certified GLA:D Instructor at Move, which is an education and exercise program for people with hip or knee Osteoarthritis symptoms.

Additionally, he has a particular interest in preventative clinical exercise and ‘prehabilitation’, and enjoys using strength and conditioning training to help patients with long term conditions, such as low bone density or arthritis, load their body appropriately and become stronger.

Tom’s interest in exercise and movement carries through to his personal life, staying active through cycling, swimming, high intensity interval training, and Pilates. He also enjoys gardening and refining his culinary skills!
