Nicole Walker

Physiotherapist

Nicole has worked with people across all stages of life, from athletes and performing artists through to older adults. She enjoys helping people better understand their bodies and feel confident returning to the activities that are important to them. As an experienced musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, Nicole is particularly interested in persistent pain, neck and back pain, and working with circus artists and aerialists.

With postgraduate qualifications in advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Nicole combines her clinical experience with a strong focus on education, movement and individualised treatment.

  • Qualifications: Master of Advanced Clinical Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (University of South Australia), Master of Physiotherapy (Flinders University), Bachelor of Education and Health Sciences (Flinders University)
  • Extra Studies: Explain Pain and Explain Pain Applications (Neuro Orthopaedic Institute), McKenzie Method Parts A & B, GLA:D trained, Dry Needling, Certificate IV in Fitness & Mat Pilates
  • Memberships: Australian Physiotherapy Association

Nicole’s passion for Physiotherapy comes from experiencing the positive impact that movement and a healthy lifestyle can have on both physical and mental wellbeing. She enjoys helping others rediscover the joy of movement and overcome barriers that prevent them from living life to its fullest.

Education is also an important part of Nicole’s approach to Physiotherapy. She believes that helping people understand their body, injury or condition, and the treatment options available to them can help them make informed decisions and feel more confident throughout their healthcare journey. Depending on the individual, her treatment may incorporate exercise and movement-based rehabilitation, hands-on treatment, dry needling and principles from the McKenzie Method.

Nicole has a special connection to the performing arts through her own experience as an aerialist. She has performed in multiple festivals and shows as an aerialist, as well as producing a number of her own shows too. This gives her a unique understanding of the physical demands placed on circus artists, particularly aerialists, and she enjoys helping performers manage injuries and continue doing what they love.

Outside of work and performing with aerial silks and hoops, Nicole enjoys walking, gardening and spending time with her family. She’s also kept company by her four chickens – Dot, Chilli, Eggwina and Henrietta!
