Jacinta combines her clinical exercise prescription with a holistic mind-body approach. She is currently completing a PhD exploring the benefits of mindfulness combined with movement (e.g., yoga) on mental and physical health. As such, her prescription has a strong focus on biomechanics, alignment, yoga and mental health.
Jacinta has always been fascinated with movement and the human body, and passionate about connecting with and helping people. She enjoys collaborating with her clients to create unique evidence-based exercise programs, so that long term behaviour change and improved health are both attained and maintained.
Jacinta completed her Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2016 and commenced her career at iNform upon graduation. However, she continued on to complete an honours degree in biomechanics and is now currently completing a PhD exploring the effects of yoga on mental health.
Jacinta’s background in biomechanics enhances her exercise prescription, with a particular focus on reducing pain, re-training movement patterns and building strength. Jacinta accidentally found yoga after a hamstring injury and has been fascinated with the mental and physical health benefits that she personally notices. This inspired her to train as a Yoga Teacher in 2018, and to do further study for Trauma-Sensitive Yoga practices. Collectively, this allows Jacinta to utilise alternative treatment modalities and offer patients evidence-based and holistic care.
When Jacinta isn’t working, you’ll most likely find her upside down, drinking coffee or snapping photos. Sometimes all three at once.
